This recipe came as I was improvising a cleansing fast for myself. The challenge was to bring the principles of Oriental Medicine to the best of western style cleanses. This is very important — especially if you're a skinny little cold guy, like me!
So, as well as being delicious, this juice is cleansing, yet warmed by the ginger and cinnamon, and nourishing with the addition of spirulina.
Here are the ingredients:
Trim the fruit and vegetables to fit in the juicer. Run them through, and pour the juice into a blender.Turn the blender on to a low speed and pour the cinnamon and spirulina through the hole in the lid. This minimizes spirulina sticking to the sides of the blender.
Add the water, and you're done!
This drink is well-balanced and warm enough to be consumed at most any time of the year. And it's fairly alkalizing as well.
